HOW TO BECOME A MOVE MEMBER

initial Assessment

All new clients must complete an initial assessment with one of our clinicians to become a member. The initial assessment is a one-hour appointment that covers client backgrounds, limitations, and physical goals for the future. After the initial assessment, the clinician will make a physical exercise plan for the client to follow and provide recommendations for the future.

After initial assessment

Once the initial assessment has been completed, the now new member has a few options:

  • continue one-on-one appointments only

  • participate in open gym sessions (depending on clinician approval)

  • continue with a combination of one-on-one appointments and open gym sessions

What is open gym?

Open gym sessions are 1-hour or 2-hour bookings where members can use the adaptive gym freely. This allows members to have independence while completing their workout. We do have volunteers available throughout the day to assist with equipment setup and exercise help. The volunteers, and members, have access to the physical exercise plan created by the clinician after the initial assessment that can be followed

What is one-on-one therapy?

One-on-one therapy is provided by our Kinesiologists or Athletic Therapists where they work directly with a member for the duration of the session. One-on-one appointments can be booked for either 30 minutes or 1 hour. Our experienced clinicians will work towards a common goal with clients, providing recommendations and adapting treatment plans.
